Setting up your e-mail account in Outlook / Thunderbird / Webmail
E-mail setup in Outlook / Thunderbird or any other e-mail client
Watch the video below for a step by step guide on how to setup your e-mail account in Outlook or any other mail client.
Settings for your Outlook and Mozilla e-mail account:
POP3 or IMAP? When deciding whick of the above protocols to use, consider the following:
Using POP3 POP3 downloads then deletes mail from the server. All mail is stored on the desktop or other device. This is advantageous is you have low server disk space and you are able to make a backup archive of your e-mail.
Using IMAP The IMAP protocol allows for the downloading of mail to multiple devices such as your mobile phone, tablet and notebook. All devices will be able to see the same e-mails. The mail is stored on the server for a specified period of time and then archived to your local computer or other device. These setting will be adjusted in Outlook - settings / options. It is recommended that you visit your webmail interface periodically to remove any unwanted e-mail that is taking up server space. (domain.co.za/webmail)
